pothole or enjoy one of the many footpaths. Find
out whats on with the calendar of events. Visit a
local heritage centre, museum or craft shop on
one of the many picturesque villages or take a
ride on a steam train. Buy local produce at a
farmers' market or sample a pint of local brew.
This website contains a list of hotel, bed and
breakfast and pub accommodation plus campsites
and bunk houses. Visit Ingleton and The Three
Peaks with it's many caves, glens and waterfalls
or Arkengarthdale and Tan Hill, some of England's
remotest countryside. Skipton and the South, the
gateway to the Yorkshire Dales and Swaledale,
with it's attractive meadows and barns. There's
Coverdale, untouched by time and Bishopdale,
rustic with few inhabitants. Malhamdale with it's
Cove and nearby Gordale Scar. Visit Wensleydale
and Hawes with it's museums and craft shops or
the small town of Sedbergh and Dentdale with it's
viaducts.
Kirkby Lonsdale, a town also closely related to
the Lake District and it's area straddling three
counties. Mighty Wharfedale and it's villages,
hills, farms and potholes or Nidderdale and
Pateley Bridge, not part of the National Park but
worth a mention. The main radio
station for the Yorkshire Dales area is FRESH
A.M. and can be received at
936, 1413 and 1431 Medium Wave. Visit FRESH A.M.
