The Shambles and Castleberg Rock Settle is a small market town just outside the National Park and well worth a mention. It has limited free parking outside the Shambles in the town centre and pay and display a few yards away. Visitors may also visit by train as this is the southern terminus of the Settle to Carlisle Line, which takes the visitor on a scenic journey through 60 miles of wilderness before arriving at the border city of Carlisle. |
