

The Packhorse Inn
Situated only 300 yards from the Pennine Way Long Distance Footpath near the Gorple Reservoirs is this absoloute delight of an inn. Here on this tract of moorland, sandwiched between the industrial areas of East Lancashire and West Yorkshire the Pack Horse Inn offers a sanctuary from the hassles of everyday life. A converted 17th century laithe farmhouse this remote pub offers a warm welcome for all travellers with freshly made food and hand pulled ales in a traditional atmosphere. Accommodation is available in three en-suite rooms and there is ample parking.
The bar has several pictures of the Hardcastle Crags Railway which served the construction of the Walshaw Dean Reservoirs in the early years of the 20th century.
The Pack Horse is open lunchtimes and evenings Momday to Saturday and all day Sunday.
